You should start swaddling your baby as soon as they are born to help them sleep better, prevent scratching, and to reduce the possibility of SIDS.
Q:
When should I STOP swaddling my baby?
A:
If you feel there is any risk your baby could possibly roll from the back to stomach position while swaddled (this is unlikely even for older babies because babies use their arms to roll over), discontinue swaddling. Swaddling the baby is intended for when your baby is sleeping on their back.
You should no longer use any kind of swaddle if your baby is large enough or strong enough to break free of the blanket.
Consider using wearable blanket (Lullabag) to keep larger babies safely covered while they sleep.
